Getting the free water out
Truck-mounted and portable extraction units pull standing water off hard floors and out of carpet and padding, working from the edges of the wet area inward.
Standing water keeps damaging materials every hour it sits there. Frisco Water Damage Repair gets it out of a Frisco property first, then works out how far it has already traveled before anything is torn out.
The first job is volume: extracting the free water so the drying equipment has something reasonable to work with. On a slab home the water usually ran further than the wet patch suggests, so the extraction area is set by moisture readings rather than by what is visible.

Not every call needs every item below. Frisco Water Damage Repair separates the urgent extraction from the repair work that follows, and quotes them so you can see which is which.

Moisture meters and thermal imaging show where water sits inside walls, under cabinets and beneath flooring. That map decides where equipment goes and what has to be opened.
Furniture is blocked up or moved out of the wet area, and contents worth saving are separated from materials that are already beyond drying.
Extraction is the start, not the whole job. Once the standing water is gone the property still holds moisture in drywall, framing, insulation and subfloor, which is what structural drying deals with. If the water came from a failed supply line, see burst pipe cleanup; if it came in off the roof or across the yard, see storm and flood cleanup.
What gets saved and what gets replaced is decided by readings and by the type of water, not by guesswork. Our dry and restore versus replace guide explains how that call is made, and you can request a visit at any hour.
The volume of water, the floor area affected, what the flooring is made of and how much of it has to be lifted. Water that spread into two or three rooms takes longer than a contained spill. Frisco Water Damage Repair gives you the price on site, after the moisture readings, rather than a number over the phone.
Extraction calls are treated as emergencies and Frisco Water Damage Repair answers at any hour. Same-day attendance is normal, subject to availability. Tell us whether the water is still running, because that changes the order calls are handled in.
Shut the water off if the valve is easy to reach and dry to stand at. Stay off wet flooring near outlets, appliances and light fittings, and do not use a household vacuum on standing water. Lift curtains and rugs clear if you can do it without walking through the wet area.
Not always. Carpet itself often dries; the padding underneath usually does not, and on a slab the pad is what holds the water against the concrete. The decision is made from readings taken under the carpet. See structural drying for how that is checked.
Tell us what is wet and whether the water has stopped, and we will plan the call around it.
