The moisture source first
Meters and a visual inspection establish where the water is coming from. If it is still active, that has to be dealt with before any removal work is worth doing.
Warm, damp material can start growing mold within a day or two. Frisco Water Damage Repair finds the moisture that is feeding it, fixes that first, then removes the growth under containment rather than painting over it.
Mold is a moisture problem before it is a cleaning problem. Removing growth without finding why the material was damp just means it comes back, so the first visit is about locating the water source and taking readings around it.

Remediation is done under containment so spores are not spread through the rest of the property while the work is under way.

The work area is sealed and put under negative pressure with filtered air machines, so material being removed does not travel into clean parts of the property.
Affected porous material is cut out and bagged, surfaces are cleaned and treated, and the area is dried and re-checked before anything is closed back up.
Texas licenses mold assessment and remediation work, and above the state threshold the assessor and the remediator have to be separate parties. Ask any company you are considering for their license details in writing before work starts, and ask which of the two roles they are performing on your job.
Most of the mold work in this area follows a leak that was dried slowly or not at all, which is why structural drying matters so much in the first week. If the growth followed a burst pipe or a roof leak, that history is useful. Read signs of hidden water damage or arrange an inspection.
The size of the affected area, how much material has to be removed, how difficult the space is to work in and whether the moisture source still needs fixing. Frisco Water Damage Repair explains the scope before anything is opened up and prices it after the inspection.
Any mold growing indoors is worth removing, and what people call black mold is one of several species that look similar. It can irritate, and people with asthma or allergies may react more strongly. Nobody can tell you what a mold is by looking at it, and we do not offer medical advice on it.
Wiping a small spot on a hard surface such as tile or a shower frame is reasonable. On drywall, wood or insulation, bleach treats the surface while the growth continues inside the material, and the damp that caused it is still there. Find the moisture first.
Within roughly a day or two in warm, damp conditions, which describes most of the year here. That is the whole reason drying is treated as urgent rather than something to arrange next week. See structural drying for how that is measured.
