How Water Damage Restoration Works

There is no mystery to it. You call, we work out how urgent it is, someone measures how far the water went, you get a price, and the drying and repairs happen once you agree to them. Here is the same thing in more detail.

From Your Call to a Dry House

1

Call and describe what is wet

Tell us where the water came from, how many rooms it reached and whether it is still running. That is enough for Frisco Water Damage Repair to decide whether this is an emergency call or a booked visit.

2

Stop the water if it is safe

We will talk you through the fixture valve, the main where the line enters the house or the meter box near the curb. Nothing you have to force, and nothing near standing water and live power.

3

Inspection, readings and an upfront quote

Moisture meters and thermal imaging show how far the water actually traveled. You get told what has to come out, what can be dried in place and what the work costs before anything is removed.

4

Dry, monitor, then repair

Extraction and drying equipment go in, readings are repeated until they hold at normal levels, and then the agreed repairs are carried out. The log stays with you for your insurer.

Before Anyone Arrives

If water is still escaping, stopping it is the priority. Most properties around here have a shutoff at the water meter box near the curb, worked with a meter key, and many houses also have a valve where the supply enters the building or near the water heater. Find yours before you need it and check that it actually turns.

Stay off wet flooring near outlets, appliances or a dripping light fitting, and do not stand under a ceiling that is bulging with water. If a water heater is leaking, switching off its breaker or gas control is worth doing only when the control is easy to reach and you are not standing in water. Anything involving sewage, a gas line or electricity near water is worth waiting for.

What You Should Get From the Quote

What is wet, in plain terms

Which rooms and materials took water, how far it traveled and what the meter readings were. If thermal imaging was used, you get to see the images yourself.

What stays and what goes

A clear list of material to be removed and material to be dried in place, with the reason for each. Nobody should be tearing out a wall you were not told about.

A price before work starts

You approve the scope and the price before anything is cut or removed. If something unexpected turns up behind a wall, work stops and you are asked again.
